Astrid McIntosh, born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, discovered the love of painting at the age of three when she started finger painting on butcher paper. She lives and works in Atlanta, GA and is currently attending the Savannah College of Art and Design, (SCAD), working on a degree in Fine Arts, Painting with a minor in Production Design. Her art expresses her emotions and takes on many forms. Astrid has her own studio where she creates mixed media 3D works using reclaimed wood and found objects to tell her stories. In May of 2015, she had a one-woman show at Ocean Market, a French café in downtown Atlanta, which included works that were a combination of acrylic on canvas and repurposed wood collages and sculptures. She also has displayed her work at 7 Stages Theater in Atlanta. Her work can be found in the homes of family and friends. She has displayed and sold her 3D pieces in various consignment stores in Atlanta. Astrid also works in production design in the film and theater industry. With a minor in Production Design from SCAD, she has worked on multiple SCAD student produced films such as The Deceiver, Feme Fatal, and How to Date a Zombie Girl and in theater and live performance production and lighting design in SCAD’s theater productions.
